I think I’m getting better at things.  This is probably the first time I’ve used such a wide color pallet. I like it.  There is a lot that could be changed about this but it’s a nice looking test piece. Among other techniques it uses the 3D tube drawing technique for which a tutorial is forthcoming.  Can’t wait to do that tutorial and see what others think.

The above image was created in part using a technique I haven’t seen anywhere else.  It’s the technique used in the above image to create those puffy billows that come out from behind the letters.  In essence it’s a technique to easily create the appearance of 3D in tubes, pipes, and billows like you see above.  Not to mention long 3D looking boxes, etc.  Below are a few more examples.  Expect a tutorial in the next couple days.

‘Pitch’ by Jesse van Dijk

Dutch digital artist Jesse van Dijk’s portfolio is ripe with delicious imagery. Primarily focused on the sci-fi/fantasy end of the spectrum, he also has created some beautiful matte painting work as well as work seated in the present. Utilizing a painterly style he creates well detailed and imaginative worlds with the stroke of his tablet. He’s also been kind enough to create several ‘making of’ articles that illustrate some of his techniques. They can be found here and here.

Nice set of basic Processing techniques, looks like it will be a great place to start learning. The more I read about this software the more interested I get in starting to really do some work with it.
