Currently have three half finished songs ongoing. It’s good to have more than one, allows me to bounce around a bit, but still takes up time. Space in mouth is time and songs are candy-coated lightbulbs. They taste great.

Two of the tracks are coming along well, lyrics for one a nearing a final draft and the music and arrangement seems fairly solid. Another is already in the recording phase, had to change the key because pipes don’t go that low. Key change after lots of recording is done means lots of recording gets to be redone. But the drums are 85% done. Third is sketch but solid sketch. Three phases for three songs.

Feels like that some(most)times when I’m trying to write and record. Have to step away a bit and forget things in order to remember them better later. Get too close and you can’t see or hear anything. Have to get close sometimes to write. Hard to step back. I am stepping back now.

New song is going well enough, tentatively titled “What we want” but I think that is going to change. I think it’s a rocker. Will be interesting to see if it is still good when it’s done.
